Employee Handbook
Edited,
updated and produced final version of employee handbook, ensured all policies were current, and all practices --including
forms being used-- were in order. Distributed handbook electronically to all employees and collected
handbook receipts. Posted electronic version of the handbook in the company's intra-net. Result -
HR has signed handbooks receipts, and all employees have access to the latest version of the employee handbook on-line.
Safety Plan
Updated safety plan, posted on the company's
intra-net creating a "Safety Corner" where employees can at any time access the safety plan, workers's
compensation information, access to the emergency and disaster plan as well as make suggestions directly to the safety
officer. Result - All employees have access to the latest safety information which is vital in case
of an emergency or injury.
Selection of Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Researched
the selection and purchase options of an ATS. Inventoried the needs of all users, quantified selection criteria, requested
proposals from vendors, narrowed finalists, arranged vendor on-line demonstrations, sampled software. Result
- Helped client identify which vendor and ATS software best met their needs.
Employee Orientation
in Spanish
Conducted new employee orientation in Spanish for employees at manufacturing
company, who did not speak English. Employee handbook, individual job descriptions and performance evaluation
forms --all of which had been translated into Spanish -- were discussed in detail. Result-
Employees left feeling more committed, more valued, and with an increased understanding of the employer's policies and
their own responsibilities.
Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs (OFCCP)
Companies with federal contracts must comply with the Office of Federal Contracts Compliance Programs regarding
how on-line and electronic applicants have to be processed and considered. In collaboration with HR staff, wrote
the standard operating procedures in detail outlining the application and selection process so that it met all the OFCCP
requirements. Result- The company is better able to organize their employment activities and ensure
compliance with the OFCCP.
